Hey Members! The codewords in the perfect (non-extended) binary Golay code are of size 23! That’s right. If you are not sure what that means, no worries. This week is a 23er in that it holds significances not necessarily accessible to easy thinking – much like a John Coltrane composition. And since today is the birthday of the 20th century’s giant-stepping mode wanderer, what better time to just let the size of codewords be what they may and figure somewhere in the system there is a love supreme.
