Take a page from the book of LBJ, members. Inside the senate, he was known for “The Treatment” whereby he would corner of holdout and set to until he knew he had their vote. And outside the senate he was equal parts magnolia and briar, stumping eloquent with JFK but perfectly willing to bust loose on a heckler if need be. He may have been a bombastic mule skinner with errant judgement on problems like Vietnam, but he enacted 13 Great Society legislative proposals during his stint as President. This week there’ll be holdouts and hecklers following you on whatever campaign you’re on. Best to channel a little of LBJ’s agro velocity: Give ’em what for and don’t let the jackasses get you down.
