Sure, this week might start with a 9, but it’s really all about square roots since 161 years ago today, the United States annexed its 31st territory in the form of the state called California. That fabled terrain of Death Valley, Hollywood, and Baja not only gives us tremendous produce but, as the land of eternal sunshine, provides hella-shadows, of which Carl Jung would be proud. So this week, get out your shades and look deep into your own personal lunar eclipse. To be sure, you’ll find a golden state.
