Today, you are a member of … When You Grope For Luna

gravity-assist

Today, Members way back in 1959, the cosmonautical USSR probe, Luna 3, transmitted the first, way grainy images of the dark side of the moon.  It did so by employing for the very first time, ever, the orbital aerospace engineering maneuver known as gravity assist – the slingshot of accelerants, for which why there is no roller coaster ride named for such, remains a mystery. Also on this day Allen Ginsberg, that beatnik completely embraced and metamorphosized by the hippies, first read his epic poem HOWL, an interrogation of the hollowed out shell the American Dream revealed itself to be.  So this week members, why not take cues from both – howl long and hard at the dark side of things but feel free to use the gravity of the situation to give you some escape velocity.
