Today, you are a member of… It’s Not Relative

Really Members, The Lesser Boatman (Corixa punctata), that audio wonder of the the aquatic pygmy insect world, is not just a smaller entity to a Greater Boatman. In fact, our guy Lesser isn’t even in the same genus as the General Boatman since Lesser’s dorsal-ventral coloration has a dreamy metallic hue and his dining tends toward garbage and algae rather than tadpoles. The best part about Lesser is that the males are the loudest insect relative to body size in the animal kingdom. With a penis and an abdomen, he can crank out decibels that rival a freight train. This week, when going after what you want, don’t get bogged down by relativities – your frequencies render them mute and moot, despite any and all naming protocols.
