Today, you are a member of… Roman Holiday

Did you know, Members, that before this week back in 1861, when an actual kingdom on the boot was declared by the Proclamation of Turin, there was no unified entity known as Italy? That’s right. Just “the Italian Peninsula” which, though descriptive, lacks the panache and zazz of ITALY! And just as Vittorio Emanuele Maria Alberto Eugenio Ferdinando Tommaso (the established King of the Kingdom of Italy) thought that consolidation was a better formula than a conglomerate of city-settlements interspersed with papal fiefdoms, you too will do well this week by getting your various and sundry states together enough to at least give the appearance of unification. After all, who doesn’t look good in an Italian suit?
