Today, you are a member of… Where You At

electronwaveThings are spinning this week, members. And although the centrifugal g-Force of carny rides and NASA training alike can be fun for a while, best to know where you’re at lest you glarf all over your astronaut suit. Here to help is the Circle of Fifths – the long standing theory that if you start on a note, traverse to the fifth semitone up in the scale, you get not only the interval between that scale’s octave notes, but the root note of the next scale up. Fancy! So this week members, if you are going in circles, remember that with a little math, geometry, and music it’s easy to figure out where you are no matter where you at.
